Did President of France Escape From Angry Farmers? WTF team Figured Out What's Wrong with Macron's Photo

Weekly Top Fake journalists discovered the original photo.

Fake appearance date: 27.02.2024

Pro-government Telegram channels reported that the French president had to flee angry farmers at the Paris International Agricultural Show. The Weekly Top Fake team checked to see whether it was true.

At the end of February 2024, both Telegram channels Nevolfovich and ZhS Premium published a photo of Emmanuel Macron running. According to the authors of these channels, it depicts the President of France fleeing from farmers who broke into the building where the Paris International Agricultural Show was taking place.

Here is what Zhs Premium in particular said in their post:

“He was almost bombarded with rotten eggs by protesting farmers in Paris (photo). He barely escaped so as not to stain his suit. He'd finish badly!”

Protesting farmers actually tried to break into the Paris International Agricultural Show when Macron visited it. But the photo shown above was taken not on that day, but a year earlier.

Weekly Top Fake journalists discovered the original photo. It was published on the Getty Images photo agency website on February 25, 2023.

The description of the photo says that the French President is running to greet guests of the 59th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Paris.
