Finishing Off Ukraine Vets? “Nevolfovich” Presents Its Vision as UN Initiative

The Weekly Top Fake team investigated the details of the proposed work for Ukrainians.

Ukraine is trying to get rid of ‘unnecessary’ citizens, according to the authors of the Belarusian pro-government Telegram channel “Nevolfovich”, commenting on job opportunities for women, veterans, and disabled individuals in mine clearance. The Weekly Top Fake team investigated the details of the proposed work for Ukrainians.

The UN initiative reportedly offers mine clearance work to disabled Ukrainians, including veterans and women. The Telegram channel “Nevolfovich” covered this on November 3, 2024, with the following comments:

“So, if a Ukrainian survives, he needs to be finished off? Otherwise, they have to pay for disability. The Kyiv regime is slick; they don’t want to share donations. They haven’t stolen enough yet.”

Some Russian media outlets also reported that Ukraine plans to force disabled individuals and women into mine clearance, referring to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry actually announced that disabled individuals and veterans could find work in mine clearance, making it clear that employment is voluntary.

Four Ukrainians who were previously injured by explosive devices have already secured such positions. They became employees of The HALO Trust, an international charitable organization that conducts demining operations in conflict-affected countries.

Their responsibilities include analyzing images from satellites and drones to identify minefields, meaning they are not directly engaged in the act of clearing mines.

In late September, Ukraine's Cabinet simplified disability benefit payments for injured soldiers and for families of soldiers who died outside of combat.
